The final dimensions, pressure class, facing type, material grade, manufacturing standard, testing requirements, and surface treatment should be confirmed according to the intended piping system and mating components.
Pressure Ratings and Standards
Products are available according to ASME/ANSI B16.5 pressure classes from Class 150 to Class 1500. JIS configurations are available in 5K, 10K, and 20K pressure ratings.
ASME Class and JIS K ratings use different dimensional systems and pressure-temperature relationships. They should not be treated as directly equivalent.
The actual allowable working pressure depends on:
Material grade
Operating temperature
Nominal size
Applicable standard
Pressure class
Facing type
Gasket selection
Bolting materials
Transported medium
Customers should specify the complete standard and pressure designation when requesting a quotation, such as ASME B16.5 Class 150 or JIS B 2220 10K.
Facing Options
Raised Face
The Raised Face configuration provides a defined gasket-contact area and is widely used in industrial piping systems. The required surface finish should be selected according to the gasket type and applicable standard.
Flat Face
The Flat Face configuration provides a sealing surface across the full face. Correct gasket dimensions and mating-component compatibility should be confirmed before installation.
Ring-Type Joint
The RTJ configuration uses a precision-machined ring groove and compatible metal ring gasket. Groove dimensions, ring number, gasket material, hardness, and surface condition should be specified according to the applicable standard.
Male and Female Face
Male and female facings use complementary raised and recessed surfaces to align and retain the gasket. Both mating components must be manufactured according to compatible dimensions.
Tongue and Groove Face
Tongue and groove facings use matching projections and recesses to position and protect the gasket. The tongue component must be paired with a compatible groove component manufactured according to the same standard.
Material Options
A wide range of austenitic, duplex, super duplex, and high-alloy stainless steel materials is available.
Austenitic Stainless Steel
ASTM A182 F304, F304L, F316, F316L, F310S, F321, and F347 provide different levels of corrosion resistance, temperature resistance, weldability, and mechanical performance.
Duplex Stainless Steel
S31803 and S32205 duplex stainless steels combine good mechanical strength with improved resistance to chloride stress-corrosion cracking.
Super Duplex Stainless Steel
S32750 and S32760 provide higher strength and enhanced corrosion resistance for demanding chloride-containing and marine environments.
904L Stainless Steel
904L is a high-alloy austenitic stainless steel designed for applications requiring improved resistance to certain aggressive chemical environments.
Material selection should be based on the transported medium, chemical concentration, temperature, pressure, corrosion conditions, welding requirements, and applicable project specifications.
Manufacturing Process
The products are manufactured from stainless steel forgings and finished through precision CNC machining.
The principal manufacturing stages may include:
Raw-material verification
Billet cutting
Heating and forging
Heat treatment
Rough machining
Precision CNC machining
Facing and sealing-surface machining
Drilling and dimensional processing
Surface treatment
Testing and inspection
Product marking
Packaging
The exact manufacturing route depends on the material grade, pressure class, facing type, size, testing requirements, and applicable standard.
Forging helps refine the material structure and supports consistent mechanical properties. Precision CNC machining helps maintain dimensional accuracy, bolt-hole alignment, sealing-face geometry, and compatibility with mating components.
Product Marking and Traceability
Standard markings may include:
LIANHE logo
Nominal size
Pressure class or JIS rating
Applicable standard
Stainless steel material grade
Heat number
Batch or traceability information
Customer logos, private brands, project numbers, purchase-order references, and other customized markings can be applied according to confirmed requirements.
Heat-number marking supports traceability between the finished product, raw-material certificate, manufacturing records, and inspection documentation.
Surface Treatment
Available surface-treatment options include degreasing and cleaning or pickling.
Degreasing and cleaning help remove machining oil, dirt, and process residues from the finished surface.
Pickling can help remove oxide scale, heat tint, surface contamination, and free iron introduced during forging, heat treatment, or machining.
Additional passivation, polishing, protective coating, or specialized cleaning may be available according to customer and project requirements.
The sealing face should be protected during surface treatment, packaging, storage, and transportation to prevent scratches, dents, corrosion, or other damage that could affect sealing performance.
Product Test Items
Available testing and inspection procedures include:
Ultrasonic Testing (UT)
Radiographic Testing (RT), when technically applicable
Positive Material Identification (PMI)
Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT)
Dimensional Inspection
Surface and Visual Inspection
Hardness Testing
Material Certificate Verification
Marking and Traceability Inspection
The required test methods, acceptance criteria, sampling ratios, and inspection standards should be confirmed before production.
Testing requirements may vary according to the material grade, forging size, pressure class, customer specification, and applicable project standard.
Factory Inspection Reports and Certificates
Inspection reports and supporting quality documents can be supplied according to confirmed order requirements, including:
Raw-Material Inspection Certificate
EN 10204 3.1 Material Test Certificate
Nondestructive Testing Report
Ultrasonic Testing Report
PMI Test Report
Liquid Penetrant Testing Report
Dimensional Inspection Report
Hardness Test Report
Third-Party Inspection Report
Other project-specific quality documents
Third-party inspection, witnessed testing, or additional documentation can be arranged when confirmed before production.
Product Quality Control
LIANHE operates a quality-management system based on ISO 9001:2015. Production processes are controlled to support material traceability, dimensional accuracy, consistent manufacturing, and documented inspection.
The principal quality-control procedures include:
Verifying raw-material grades, heat numbers, dimensions, and material certificates.
Conducting PMI testing when required to confirm the alloy grade.
Monitoring forging temperature, forming, and heat-treatment processes.
Inspecting dimensions during rough and precision machining.
Checking sealing-face geometry, surface condition, and finish.
Verifying bolt-hole quantity, diameter, position, and alignment.
Performing applicable nondestructive and hardness testing.
Checking product markings against the order and material certificates.
Performing final visual and dimensional inspection before packaging.
Verifying quantities, labels, shipping marks, and packaging before dispatch.
Products are approved for delivery after completing the applicable inspection procedures.
Packaging
Each product is protected with bubble wrap or a plastic cover to reduce exposure to dust, moisture, impact, and surface damage.
The products are then packed in wooden cases or secured on pallets according to their size, weight, quantity, and selected transportation method.
Protective covers or separators can be used to protect machined sealing surfaces during storage and international transportation.
Customized wooden cases, pallets, labels, barcodes, customer logos, and other packaging arrangements can be supplied according to confirmed order requirements.
